I started Summergold in 2013 with Rhonda Lake. We knew that magic happens when a group of people are invited to live in community with each other. We give our campers the space, time and programming that stimulates creativity and confidence. Out of confidence comes self esteem. You need to feel good about yourself whether you're 10 or 70.

I am a retired school psychologist, principal and science teacher who loves to read, spend time outdoors and learn new things. I see camp as an essential “3rd place” in the world of education. If school and home are the primary worlds for learning, camp provides an additional opportunity to grow. It teaches skills that are only accessible when a camper strikes out on her own and discovers what they are capable of.

I'm currently in my final year as a graphic design student at UNL. In my free time I like to play video games, create art, watch anime, cook, and listen to music. I find camp important because it creates new experiences and fond memories to carry with you throughout your life, and I cant wait to create those memories with you this year!

I am an English Language Arts teacher to multilingual students at R.M. Marrs Magnet Center in Omaha. When I’m not teaching, tutoring, or running video game club, I love spending time with my fiancé, reading, playing with my three cats, and doing anything crafty or DIY. Camp has always held a special place in my heart. I went to my first sleepaway camp when I was seven, and I fell in love with the magic that can happen in one beautiful week. I was a counselor at Camp Summergold for three summers in college, and I’m beyond excited to be back as the Programming Manager.
