Camp Counselors are responsible for the overall supervision of campers with the aim of providing a healthy, safe and enjoyable camp environment and experience. A good Camp Counselor has strong leadership skills and is creative in implementing activities for campers.
I am currently part of the Professional Internship Company at the St. Louis Black Repertory Company. I also walk dogs as a side job! In my free time I like to craft, read, and binge watch Netflix shows. I believe camp is important because it allows us to remove ourselves from technology, and focus on ourselves. It's also a way to try new things in a safe environment!
I am a PhD student with UNL studying paleontology. I am passionate about science communication and informal learning. Outside of my research, you can find me dancing up in the air at my aerial studio, playing the guitar, or reading. I love the outdoors and often do field work in Wyoming. I went to camp every summer from the ages of 8 through 15, and being at camp allowed me to be independent and grow into who I am.
This summer 2021 will be my 4th year as a counselor at Camp Summergold! I work as a para educator at a middle school in a special ed classroom. I am so excited to be able to come back this year and I can’t wait to make some unforgettable memories with everybody!
I currently work at Dillard’s as a retail specialist. In my free time I like to hang out with my sisters, go hiking, do yoga and read. Camp is important because it helps build a lot of close friendships, and let’s you find your individuality. I’m excited to meet everyone and have a wonderful summer!
I attend UNL, working towards a degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Theatre Direction. I love to draw, sing, write music, and watch movies in my free time. Camp Summergold is important to me because I've been a camper myself for about 6 years, and have gained some wonderful and unforgettable experiences along the way!
Hi everyone! My name is Lexi! I am both a physical and virtual Special Education Teacher for 6th graders. This is my first year being a camp counselor and I am super excited! I can't wait to meet everyone and have fun!

I hail from Lincoln (Go Links!), but now I attend college at Northwest Missouri State. I just finished my sophomore year there, as well as completed my first year as a Resident Assistant in the dorms. My major is currently Political Science with minors in Psychology and Journalism. It is important to create safe spaces for individuals to be their authentic selves, and Camp Summergold does just that! I cannot wait to meet everybody at camp and to have the best summer ever.
I currently work as a barista while being a full time student at UNL. I love spending my free time in the outdoors camping, kayaking, or throwing the frisbee around with friends. Camp is important to me because it introduces me to cool people who I would not have had the opportunity to meet if it weren't for Summergold.
